Most people know about Debbie's interest in food, and recipes on this web site bear testament to it. At the end of January Debbie linked in with Rob Rees, The Cotswold Chef and social entrepreneur to provide free breakfasts for children at Severn View Primary as part of Breakfast Week. Robs, The Wiggly Charity provided a huge amount of breakfast cereal to the school and then visited the school to support them on Radio Gloucestershire

The Wiggly Charity also supplied 50 blood oranges which Debbie squeezed at home to supply juice for the children.

Cotswold Canal

1/2/2015

Chas Fellows and Debbie were involved with clearing the canal by the Round house in 2009 in order to avoid flooding which had occurred earlier. Debbie has again be asked this time by the Cotswold Canal Trust to help in raising funds to clear this area again and further down the canal by Belvedere Mews, to prevent future flooding and further up the canal as water backs up. Debbie has been involved in contacting the Parish Council and with County Councillor Stan Waddington the County Council to get the £17,500 that is needed

Help for Older People

30/1/2015

Since becoming the Cabinet Member for Housing in 2009 Debbie has ben involved in sorting out the Sheltered Housing. This service currently runs at a loss of £750,000 per year. The latest review is looking at making both savings and giving the residents the service they want. Debbie  recently met with the new Site Officers who will be delivering a Concierge Service whereby staff can replace light bulbs, put up curtain rails and generally deliver a handy person service

Christmas Wishes

30/1/2015

Debbie joined with fellow Housing Committee Councillors and supporters to cook for a group of Sheltered Housing residents in Minchinhampton. Councillor Emma Simms came with the idea of catering for the residents who had lost their resident cook and then came up with anonymous sponsors to ensure the 20 residents could continue their Christmas tradition. A menu of spiced apple and parsnip soup, followed by a traditional lunch and a choice of Christmas pudding or trifle supplied by the chair of Housing Commitee
