Huge sighs of relief all round, The first Great Stroud Bake Off was a huge success raising over £400 for the British Heart Foundation. Despite the scorching weather and Andy Murray being in the Men's Singles Finals there were 35 entries between the categories.

Debbie said "There was an amazing buzz and we all had a fabulous time. Hard work but well worth it. Now the work starts for a Christmas version"

The Handmade and Vintage Fayre has been at Chalford Village Hall on the 1st Saturday of the month for the last 5 months.
Debbie today went to visit and talk to Tracey who runs the operation. The idea is to showcase locally produced and vintage goods.
Debbie has agreed to help in promoting the groups profile and encourage new buyers and sellers.
Each month the Fayre helps a local charity or good cause, last month was The Foodbank and this month it is the Village Shop.
Debbie said "This is the first month that I have had the opportunity to visit the Fayre, and I so amazed at the quality of the products particularly the sewing and crafts. It is well worth a visit"

Pride in your Neighbourhood event

Debbie went with daughter Samantha, Helen and her children Adie and Matthew to the Pride in Your Neighbourhood event at Masons Road Playing Field.

Whilst the children played on a bouncy council, adults could get advice on housing and benefits. the first 10 people to get their bikes post coded also received free bicycle lamps. there were plenty of giveaways too from the Neighbourhood Warden and a chance to look around the Stroud fire engine, until it left abruptly.
Debbie said "This was a great event for all the family and we all thoroughly enjoyed it, even more so given the glorious weather"
